Saw a deer killed today on I90 East and I can't get it out of my head. The poor thing did the mad dash across the interstate was was hit by a van and then a semi and turned into a pile of bones. I saw the look in its eyes - it knew traffic was coming and misjudged. It could happen to any of us. It just went for it and screwed up and madly ran into oblivion. A small sweet animal with no good sense - though how could you have good sense in next to an interstate and you want to get across. A pain beyond pain. A road full of hurtling traffic. Oh the poor thing. It could be any of us.

The daily carnage on the nations roadways is very emblematic of the deleterious effects of the car crazy culture that surrounds us. Cars, between their emissions and their effect on peoples attention to details, are evil. And trucks are worse.
Roadkills pain me as well- especially thinking about the ones that suffer. Sucks. Nice thought and good to know others think or have experiences similar to my own.
